On Tuesday, November 17, the Splendora High School Band traveled to Woodforest Bank Stadium in Conroe to participate in this year’s UIL Region Marching Contest. The Splendora High School band earned a unanimous Division 1 rating from all three judges, which is the absolute highest rating a marching band can achieve at the region level. The band has qualified to advance to UIL Area Marching Contest which will be held in Lindale, Texas on December 5. The next contest is a truly ranked contest based off of a point system where the top few band placements will qualify to participate in UIL State Marching Band Championships. Splendora High School band was the only 1A through 4A school in all of Region 9 to participate in UIL Region Marching Contest this year.

The judges had these comments to say about Splendora’s marching band on the sheets:

“Beautiful quality of sounds from all students, a great center of pitch and superior center and balance from player to player – very nice job!” – Jarret Lipman”Overall really nice sounds from top to bottom! …Very nice marching today! Alignment issues recovered quickly. Very nice show concept and color guard! Congratulations!” – Charles Aguillon”Good understanding of tonal concepts… consistent approach to marching technique.” – Bob Chreste

The directors are extremely proud of all of the band students who participated and worked so hard to make this performance possible during these incredibly challenging times. We are incredibly thankful for all of the Splendora teachers, band directors and staff, administrators, band parents, and constituents of Splendora who helped us make this moment possible for our kids.https://drive.google.com/…/1k5e7jY6vIJXDqBzstRi…/view…Splendora ISD
