Update-Sheriff’s Office investigates suspicious death in Spring-man found dead in his back yard

Update from November 14-The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating a vehicle relating to this homicide. If you know where a 2008 BMW Z4 with Texas license plate KBR0387 is located, please call the Sheriff’s Office at 936-760-5800 extension 3, and refer to case #20A353525.

On Friday November 13, as a result of the forensic investigation into the death of Mr. Thomas John Kenney, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide/Violent Crimes Detectives added the additional charge of Murder to the suspect, who was arrested at the scene on November 12. Barbara Ann Kenney, wife of Thomas Kenney, was arrested on November 12, and taken to the Montgomery County Jail where she remains today with a Bond of $500,000.

On Thursday November 12 at 8 am, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Welfare Check call at 34 Firefall Court in Spring. Upon arrival at the residence, Sheriff’s Deputies observed a deceased male in the back yard , who was determined to be the homeowner, 71-year-old Thomas John Kenney.

During an extensive investigation, Sheriff’s Homicide/Violent Crimes Detectives determined 56-year-old Barbara Ann Kenney was allegedly involved in this incident. At 2:52 pm, Mrs. Kenney was placed under arrest and transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where she was booked under charges of Tampering with Physical Evidence- Human Body. Further charges may be considered pending the results of a forensic investigation.
