Conroe Police arrest teen on murder charges following fatal stabbing outside restaurant

On October 9 at about 12:30 AM, Conroe Police Officers were dispatched to HCA Conroe Hospital in reference to an assault. Officers were told that a stabbing victim came into the emergency room with several other men. Officers quickly learned that the victim was involved in a large fight outside of Michelada El Patio, located at 2017 North Frazier. Arriving Officers secured a large crime scene, which included the parking lot and interior of the business. Numerous witnesses and employees were still at the location and gave Officers a description of the incident.

Officers learned that the stabbing victim, Jorge Galeas Jr., 24, arrived at the bar with a group of friends. The group of men came across another group of males at the bar. Both groups had previous history with each other, and a fight ensued in the parking lot. At one point, the Galeas Jr. was stabbed in the chest. The men left the location and took Galeas Jr. to the emergency room.

Detectives from Conroe PD arrived and began an investigation. Osman Gustavo Membreno, 19, was quickly identified as a suspect. At 3:00 AM Jorge Galeas Jr. died as a result of the stabbing. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Membrano and began searching for him.

Within hours Conroe Police Officers were able to locate and arrest Membrano on charges of murder for the murder of Galeas Jr. Membrano was booked into the Montgomery County Jail for murder, and is being held without bond.

Conroe Police Chief Jeff Christy would like to thank all of the Law Enforcement Officers and agencies that assisted with the investigation and helped take a violent criminal off the street.
