Four hunters lost in Sam Houston Forest found safe

New Waverly Firefighters were dispatched on Jan. 2 to the Sam Houston National Forest to find four hunters who were lost.

New Waverly Fire Department Officials said by using GPS coordinates obtained by Walker County dispatchers, fire crews quickly located the group off of Forest Service Road 234, and led them to safety where they were evaluated by Walker County EMS. None of them required further treatment.
