Three children in stable condition after bonfire explodes

The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office says three children, ages five, seven and ten, are in stable condition, after suffering first degree burns when a paint can exploded in a bonfire. It happened on Dec. 27 off of FM 1484 east of Conroe.

The Fire Marshal’s Office says holiday celebrations, including bonfires and fireworks, lead to an increased curiosity and risk of injury for little ones. Small children should be closely monitored around outdoor fires at all times and they should not be allowed to handle or discharge fireworks.
