A Holiday to Remember Ice Skating Event, hosted by the East Montgomery County Improvement District, begins Dec. 21 and ends on Jan. 5.
The ice skating is being held at the Valley Ranch Town Center, located at 11985 North Grand Parkway East in New Caney.
Improvement District Chief Communications Officer Kelley Mattlage said this is the second year for the ice skating event, and additional days were added on this year. For the 2019-2020 season, it will be open for 16 days. The first year it was open for nine days.
Mattlage said a new feature this year is “A Visit with Santa.” That will be held Dec. 21 and Dec. 22 from 12 to 4 p.m.
The ice rink can accommodate up to 100 people at a time, from toddlers to adults. Mattlage said 90-minute skating sessions are $5 per person, and skates are provided. The rink will be open Dec. 21 through Jan. 5 from 12 to 8 p.m., except for Dec. 24 (12 to 6 p.m.) and Dec. 25 (4 to 8 p.m.). There is parking at New Caney ISD’S Randall Reed Stadium.
Mattlage said skate passes can be purchased for $50 per person ($80 value), and are good for all day admission at each of the 16 days of operation. These can be purchased at the EMICD office before the season begins.
The party room can be reserved for private parties, starting at $150, which includes ten skate bands.
