Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is  hosting a toy drive event and free photos with Santa Claus on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the hospital’s main lobby.

Families are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys to the event and enjoy free photos with Santa. All toys collected will benefit the Montgomery County Sheriff Office’s Operation Blue Elf, which distributes toys to less fortunate children in Montgomery County, from newborn to 16 years old.

“It is the perfect opportunity to serve others in the community with the spirit of Christmas; it warms our hearts. This is what it’s all about,” said Lieutenant Scott Spencer, public information officer with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

This year, Operation Blue Elf’s annual toy drive expects to serve 1,000 children in Montgomery County. The program provides each recipient with three gifts – one from the community, one from the sheriff’s department and one from Santa.

During the December 7 event at Houston Methodist The Woodlands, participating families will be photographed on a first-come, first-served basis and will receive one printed holiday photo and a digital copy. No pets allowed. Guests must check in by 12:00 p.m. to have a photo taken.

Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is located at 17201 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77385.
