Don received his Master’s in Church Growth and Cultural Anthropologies, and completed his Doctoral Studies in Missiology from Talbot Theological Seminary. In 1959 they joined AIM (Africa Inland Mission) making a total of 7 trips to Africa. During his early years of mission work, he was responsible for planting numerous churches which have grown 10 fold in number. He also taught in Bible Schools and conducted church growth seminars so as to train young men and women to minister to their communities and plant churches. In the later years, he and Barbara also worked for the Institute of Tribal Studies at the US Center of Missions. Don and Barbara retired from AIM in 2001 to Pharr, Tx, and were very active at the First Baptist Church of McAllen until Barbara went to be with her Lord and Savior in 2008.
