Montgomery County Animal Shelter adopts out hundreds of pets during mega-adoption event

The Montgomery County Animal Shelter reports that 258 dogs and 121 cats were adopted from the shelter during the “Mega Adoption Event” held Nov. 9-10 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The adoption event was through The Petco Foundation, and involved several organizations. Over 1,000 puppies, dogs, kittens and cats were available for adoption for a fee of $25. `

Petco Foundation Officials said the total number of pets adopted from all the organizations involved was 1450, which they say is a record-breaking number.
