Two people arrested following fatal shooting in Conroe


Conroe Police officials said 19-year-old Taylor Abner was shot in the abdomen at the White Oak Apartment complex at 2330 Montgomery Park Boulevard on Oct. 30. When police arrived at the complex, paramedics were performing CPR on Abner, but he did not survive.

Numerous witnesses and bystanders were outside the apartment building. After an investigation, police determined that Abner was allegedly shot by 21-year-old Deondre “DD” Johnson with an AK-47 pistol. According to witness accounts, the two men had been seen smoking marijuana and playing with the gun just prior to the shooting.

Johnson was arrested and charged with Manslaughter, a second degree felony. Police say another person who was present during the shooting, 17-year-old Mikavious Dennis, was arrested for a non-related warrant for Aggravated Robbery. Both men were taken to the Montgomery County Jail.
