Body cam from Conroe officer shows heroic rescue during Imelda

One of the many rescues Conroe police were involved in during Tropical Storm Imelda involved a family, whose vehicle stalled near the 500 block of I-45 on the east feeder road on Sept. 19. Officers Richard Cruz, Andres Garcia, Chris Herrera, Kaylee Castanon and Jason Tosto created a human chain to pull the children and adults to safety.

These officers and others, including Officer Justin Devore and Detective Jason Waller, were recognized for their heroic efforts at the Sept. 26 Conroe City Council meeting.

This rescue was caught on an officer’s body-worn camera, which was edited for time.
